Foster Homes
Fosterers are one of the most important kinds of volunteers. They welcome a rabbit into their home until that rabbit is able to find a permanent adopter. As we are not a shelter, we depend on foster homes to provide a living space for rabbits that might otherwise be euthanized at overcrowded shelters. It's also a way to socialize a frightened, skittish rabbit, paving the way for him or her to find a permanent home. There is nothing quite like the feeling you get when a shy bunny finally decides that you are trustworthy, and allows you to pet him or her.
Donating Items
Donations of the following are always greatly appreciated:
- blankets and pet beds
- cages, dog crates, and exercise pens
- computer equipment (PDAs, software, etc.)
- veterinary care (our adoption fee only covers spay/neuter cost, and is not enough to cover veterinary care for injuries or illnesses)
- Have-a-Heart traps
Monetary Donations
We also accept donations via Paypal.

We are listed as Rabbit Allies of CT. It doesn't cost a cent to
join, and once you’re a member, every time you shop
the Mall at iGive.com, we get a percentage of each purchase you make.
Check out our Cafe Press online store if you would like to support us. We have a number of items with our logo, from T-shirts to tote bags to mugs. 20% of the purchase price (what we get from each sale made at Cafe Press) goes directly to our rabbits. Thanks to Quillan for designing our logo!
Other Ways To Volunteer
As we are a small organization, there are many ways to help out. Providing transportation for rabbits or donated items, answering phone messages, fund raising - these are all ways to volunteer some of your time. During the holiday season, we wrap books at local bookstores for donations.
We have also set up a Yahoo group for our volunteers, rabbitalliesct. Feel free to join!
